The Vacuum Cast Model process prototypes and produces parts which can be made through the use of a silicon rubber tool created from a master model. It is a process of copying a 3D shape both quickly and accurately.

Once a silicone rubber tool has been made, it is filled in a vacuum with a choice of resin. This will harden and replicate the characteristics of a range of industrial material properties.

A master model can be created by use of a highly accurate SLA printed model, which is then used to create replica copies through vacuum cast models.

Vacuum casting can offer a very high level of reproduction accuracy and finishing options. Colouring pigments can be added to the vacuum chamber along with the resin components in order to provide an exact colour match to what you would like, such as company branding.

Rapid 3D is a unique and thriving business in the world of 3D printing, we have a team of dedicated engineers and model makers working together to produce some of Europe’s most important prototypes. Working in many sectors including Motorsport, Medical, Electrical, Fine Art, Robotics and many more. 3D Printing has dramatically reduced prototyping lead time and gives you the opportunity to get your ideas and developments to production quickly.
